On Thursday, September 12, several of Eleccion’s employees and close friends gathered together for the first ever neXtworking event. Held at Rowan Tree in Herndon, VA, the event allowed many of Eleccion’s biggest supporters an opportunity to get to know the growing community of bold thinkers, while sharing some food and drinks. After some socializing, the attendees eventually transitioned to discussing some of the challenges of current organizational structures and how they would like to see more mature organizational models adopted in today’s workplace. Everyone agreed that they should deep-dive into studying self-management practices like Holocracy used at Zappos, which will be the topic of the neXtworking event in November.
NeXtworking is Eleccion’s new take on the typical networking events—something beyond just the typical happy hour and finger foods. The neXtworking events are an opportunity for anyone who is interested in expanding their own network, as well as participate in building a community of ideas that could transform the way we do work in the 21st century. Held semi-monthly, these events include 30-minutes of networking and 60-minutes of learning and discussing emerging topics, such as self-managed organizations, design thinking, radical transparency or anything else that captures our imagination.
